Graduation Day and Divorce

Graduation day from high school or college is a proud day for parents. Our children look so grown up in their cap and gown as the walk across the stage to receive their diplomas. After the ceremony, the family frequently enjoys a meal together. Imagine both parents at the event being able to enjoy the happy occasion… If you are divorcing, keep your eye on the prize… being able to enjoy this moment and other milestones in your children's lives with your ex-spouse.

Divorce is not easy. It will likely be one of the most traumatic events of your life. The way you conduct yourself during this time will set the tone for your relationship with your ex-spouse for the rest of your life.? I encourage clients to take the high road when possible. I have read that at the end of our lives, we rarely look back and regret being kind or generous to others.
