Divorce and trial seperation

Clients came into my Brentwood, TN office today and asked if I could help them navigate a trial seperation as they were not yet ready to discuss divorce.  We discussed several topics including suitable housing for the husband that was close to the maritla residence as this will make co-parenting much easier.  We also reviewed a temporary parenting plan, temporary financial support, how bills will be paid and several other financial details.

I encourage couples to consider a trial seperation with rules in place that will allow both spouses the space they need to sort out their emotions.  The trial separation needs to properly addrss the financial issues before the seperataion to ensure the seperation does not cause more stress for the relationship.
